Citation VII luxury jets provide proven all-around performance in the mid-size charter jet class.

When Citation VII began production in the early 1990s, it quickly became the flagship of the Citation family. After more than nine years of manufacturing at Cessna’s production facility in Wichita, 119 were built, a testament to the VII’s popularity among mid-size luxury jets.

Engineers of the VII went to the effort of contacting owners of the private jet’s predecessor, Citation III, to see what improvements they’d like to see. They used that feedback to make vast improvements to the VII, making it more powerful and comfortable.

Citation VII uses robust Honeywell TFE731-4R-2S engines to boost cruise speed and takeoff performance. With a climb rate of 3,921 feet per minute, it can reach 37,000 feet in eighteen minutes. It has a maximum service ceiling of 43,000 feet, which allows pilots to rise above inclement weather when needed.

With a respectable cruise speed of 480 mph and a range of nearly 1,700mn, the Citation is best suited for shorter trips. Typical nonstop itineraries for this private business jet include:

• Atlanta to Boston
• Houston to Chicago

As mentioned, Cessna’s designers made the cabin more comfortable, adding improved features such as increased soundproofing to put it up there with the best luxury jets in its class. Many Citation VIIs feature stylish touches such as wood-finished interiors and extensive cabin entertainment systems. 

Keeping passenger comfort at the forefront, Citation VII’s standard executive seating arrangement is designed for six (it handles a maximum of eight passengers). For added convenience, the cabin interior also features:

• Forward and aft closets
• Refreshment center
• Expanded lavatory that doubles as a dressing room
• An external compartment houses 51 cubic feet of baggage space
